2XM Recruit are currently looking for an experienced Field Service Engineer to join a global leader in industrial drive and power transmission technology. This role involves installation, commissioning, inspection, maintenance and repair of gearboxes and power transmission equipment.

Initially you will spend time in the workshop, then move to field-based work with customer sites, and potential for national and overseas travel. GWO training available for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Must have a mechanical trade qualification and formal cert.
• Strong hands-on maintenance and fault-finding capability.
• Experience with installation, commissioning, maintenance and repairs on gearboxes/power transmission equipment.
• Experience reading engineering drawings is essential.
• Willingness to travel and work in field and workshop environments.

2XM Recruit are currently looking for an experienced Field Service Engineer to join a global leader in industrial drive and power transmission technology. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified Mechanical Fitter or similar trade looking to move into a field-based role working on high-quality industrial equipment, with opportunities for travel, training and career progression.

The Role

Working as part of the fieldservice team, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, inspection, maintenance and repair of gearboxes and power transmission equipment. The role will initially involve time in the workshop, so your location and ability to commute to the workshop is important, before moving into more field-based work and travelling to customer sites. You will be working across a range of industrial environments, with the opportunity for national and overseas travel.

What We’re Looking For Ideally, you will have:

• Cert III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade / Mechanical Fitting or a relevant mechanical trade qualification
• Strong hands‑on mechanical maintenance and fault‑finding experience
• Experience working with industrial gearboxes, rotating equipment or power transmission equipment is highly desirable
• Experience within the wind industry would be highly regarded
• Experience within quarries, fixed plant, mining, heavy industry or similar environments will also be strongly considered
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Experience with installation, commissioning, maintenance and repairs
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Valid driver’s licence
• Physically fit and comfortable working in workshop and site environments
• Must be happy to travel spontaneously
