Job summary

Air Liquide Australia is seeking a Field Services Technician – Electrician to support central Queensland operations. The role offers a company vehicle, allowances, and a path for career progression within the Air Liquide Group.

You will perform maintenance on gas systems, respond to electrical faults, and provide on-site coverage across Central Queensland with a rotating 7-day on-call schedule.

Qualifications

• Current Queensland Electrical License (trade qualification).
• Current, valid State Driver’s License (MR class highly regarded).
• Strong safety commitment and customer-site service experience; willingness to participate in a 7-day on-call roster per month with travel across Mackay and surrounding areas.
• Full Australian working rights.
• Highly regarded tickets/experience: mine site inductions, LF, EWP, confined space, rigging licences, industrial servicing experience.

• Provide on-site coverage across Central Queensland, on a bi-weekly 7-day on-call roster to maintain uptime.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on gas reticulation systems, control panels, and customer installations following the Maintenance Scheduler plan.
• Respond rapidly to emergency service calls to diagnose electrical faults, formulate corrective actions, and execute high‑quality repairs with minimal rework.
• Preserve assets by ensuring equipment remains safe, fit for purpose, and extendable; escalates complex technical or engineering challenges to regional engineers when necessary.
• Provide on‑site coverage across Central Queensland, participating in a bi‑weekly 7‑day on‑call roster to maintain continuous customer supply and uptime while prioritising safety.

Qualifications

• Current Queensland Electrical License (trade qualification).
• Current, valid State Driver’s License (MR class highly regarded).
• Strong safety commitment and customer‑site service experience; willingness to participate in a 7‑day on‑call roster per month with travel across Mackay and surrounding areas.
• Full Australian working rights.
• Highly regarded tickets and experience (advantageous):
  • Mine site inductions such as Standard11 / Mine Clearances.
  • High‑risk tickets including forklift (LF), elevated work platform (EWP), confined space, and rigging licences.
  • Experience servicing rotating equipment, industrial air compressors, instrumentation, automated systems, or gas reticulation and pressure vessels.
