Job summary

GE Vernova, Inc. is seeking a Wind Farm Field Service Technician for the Bango NSW site. You will maintain and troubleshoot GE Cypress turbines at one of Australia's largest wind farms, climbing turbines and addressing real-world technical challenges.

The role involves scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, adherence to safety standards, and on-call responsibilities. Relocation assistance is provided.

Qualifications

• Qualified Electrician (NSW) with electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic fault-finding skills.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks at heights.
• Experience with documentation and reporting using computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on turbines and site infrastructure.
• Follow GE manuals, specifications, and work instructions to perform tasks and inspections.
• Conduct maintenance, fault finding, and high voltage switching operations as required.
• Participate in annual maintenance, retrofit works, major component exchanges, and fault finding.
• Use GE software tools to maintain reports and submit technical queries.
• Ensure compliance with JSA, LOTO, EHS policies, and report issues promptly.
• Make conformance or non-conformance decisions after inspections.
• Report errors, violations, incidents, or problems immediately using GE reporting systems.
• Embrace a 37.5-hour work week with overtime opportunities and on-call rosters.

**Job Description Summary**
Are you ready to elevate your career in renewable energy? Bango Wind Farm, located on Ngunnawal Country, 14km south of Boorowa and 30km north of Yass. The third largest operational wind farm in NSW. The 244MW wind farm became fully operational in 2023, featuring 46 GE Cypress Turbines, that produce enough electricity to power 144,000 homes and prevent 543,000 tonnes of carbon emissions annually!
You'll be working at the forefront of renewable energy, maintaining and troubleshooting wind turbines at some of the most exciting and innovative sites in the country. No two days are the same, you'll be climbing turbines, solving real-world technical challenges, and helping to keep Australia's wind power turning.

**Job Description**

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on turbines and site infrastructure
• Follow GE manuals, specifications, and work instructions to perform assigned tasks and inspections
• Conduct maintenance, fault finding, and high voltage switching operations as required
• Participate in annual maintenance, retrofit works, major component exchanges, and fault finding
• Use GE software tools to maintain reports and submit technical queries
• Ensure compliance with JSA, LOTO, EHS policies, and report issues promptly
• Make a conformance or non-conformance decision upon completion of inspections
• Report errors, violations, incidents, or problems immediately using GE reporting systems
• Embrace a 37.5-hour work week, with opportunities for overtime as approved and participate in on-call rosters for after-hours or weekend work as directed

**Qualifications, Requirements & Competencies**

• Qualified Electrician (NSW)
• Proficient in fault finding (electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic equipment)
• Proficient in using computer systems and tools for monitoring work and managing documentation
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
• A current unrestricted driver's license
• Ability to complete physically demanding tasks at heights, comfortable with heights (you'll be climbing turbines, so you've got to have a head for heights and a love for fresh air!)
• A commitment to the highest safety standards, high performance, continuous improvement and delivering the right solutions
• Independent, solutions-focused, and well-organized in managing tasks
• Open to travel to other sites as required
