Job summary

Range Workforce Solutions – North Geelong VIC is seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to service and support egg grading, packing and processing equipment across Australia. You will install, fault-find, repair and maintain PLC‑controlled machinery, travelling to customer sites and providing hands‑on training.

Qualifications

• Current Electrical Disconnect/Reconnect licence (Class D or equivalent).
• Strong experience with automated, PLC-controlled machinery.
• Solid mechanical skills: drives, chains, bearings, gearboxes, conveyors and pneumatics.
• Ability to work independently on customer sites.
• Good communication skills and a professional approach with customers.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, service and maintain automated processing equipment.
• Fault-find and repair electrical, PLC/control and mechanical systems.
• Work directly with customers across egg and poultry operations.
• Complete preventative maintenance and breakdown work.

Macrospec is growing, and we're looking for an experienced Field Service Technician to join our team in North Geelong.

We service and support leading egg grading, packing and processing equipment across Australia. This is a hands‑on role where no two days are the same — one call might have you fault‑finding PLCs, drives and sensors, and the next working on conveyors, bearings, chains or pneumatics.

What you’ll be doing

• Install, commission, service and maintain automated processing equipment.
• Fault-find and repair electrical, PLC/control and mechanical systems.
• Work directly with customers across egg and poultry operations.
• Complete preventative maintenance and breakdown work.
• Train customers on newly installed equipment.
• Maintain service records, tools, equipment and your company vehicle.
• Work safely and follow customer site and farm biosecurity requirements.

What we’re looking for

You’ll be a practical, experienced technician who can diagnose the problem and fix it, rather than simply change parts.

You’ll need:

• Current Electrical Disconnect/Reconnect licence (Class D or equivalent).
• Strong experience with automated, PLC-controlled machinery.
• Solid mechanical skills — drives, chains, bearings, gearboxes, conveyors and pneumatics.
• Ability to work independently on customer sites.
• Good communication skills and a professional approach with customers.

Highly regarded:

A-grade electrical licence, Siemens/Allen-Bradley PLC experience, food/packaging machinery experience, poultry industry experience, forklift or working-at-heights tickets.

The travel
