Job summary

Supermicro is seeking a talented service engineer to play a key role in providing our customers with high level customer service, supporting our global service network and helping build a world class field engineering organization.

The role requires flexible hours including nights and weekends to respond to customer requests, diagnose problems, travel to customer sites, and repair/replace defective parts or systems.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of field service experience supporting enterprise IT hardware, data center infrastructure, or server architecture.
• Strong hands-on experience with server hardware replacements (Motherboards, CPUs, RAM, GPUs, Storage controllers). HPC or liquid cooling is a plus.
• Exceptional ability to follow standard operating procedures and halt if safety or scope deviates.
• Clear and factual communication, reporting technical states accurately.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel frequently to customer sites within the region.

Responsibilities

• Travel to enterprise customer data centers to perform hardware troubleshooting, break/fix repairs, and component replacements on servers and storage systems within strict SLA windows.
• Execute tasks according to instructions and validated scopes; halt if deviations occur.
• Run power-on self-tests, standalone diagnostics, and visual verifications to ensure faults are corrected.
• Package replaced/defective parts and ship within timelines.
• Maintain professional on-site communication and escalate scope changes to the Technical Account Manager.
• Travel is required (up to 50%).
