Job summary

13AXENT is seeking a field-based technician to service, maintain and fault-find across rail, bus and road infrastructure, with regular days at our Yatala facility. The role includes preventive maintenance under council and TMR contracts Queensland-wide, and regional travel with costs covered.

You will diagnose faults on live sites, service signage and comms gear, and support apprentices. A strong safety mindset and experienced electrotechnology background are essential.

Qualifications

• Cert III in Electronics and Communications (UEE30920 or superseded) or equivalent electrotechnology trade.
• Hands-on experience with electronic gear, fault-finding and test equipment.
• Safety conscious, organised and a good communicator.

Responsibilities

• Scheduled preventive maintenance of flashing school zone signs across Queensland and Northern NSW.
• Servicing, fault-finding and repairing electronic signage, PIDs, VAS, PA systems and comms gear.
• Diagnosing power, comms and network faults on live sites: rail platforms, bus stations, council roads.
• Occasional install and commissioning work for new sites.
• Mix of field work and factory days at Yatala (assembly, QA testing, build support).
• Regional away work at least once a month, with travel and accommodation covered.
• Mentoring apprentices on site and participating in after-hours on-call roster.
