Job summary

PFD Food Services in Victoria is seeking a Field Sales Manager to lead and develop a team of Sales Representatives across Warrnambool and Horsham. Reporting to the State Sales Manager, you will work closely with local branch leadership to strengthen sales capability, lift performance across the region, and build strong relationships with key customers.

You will coach, mentor, and lead by example, using CRM data to drive growth, margins, and customer retention.

• Collaborate with Branch Managers, operations, customer service, and suppliers to align priorities.

About this Position

As the Field Sales Manager, you will lead and develop a team of Sales Representatives across Warrnambool and Horsham. Reporting to the State Sales Manager, you will work closely with local branch leadership to strengthen sales capability, lift performance across the region, and build strong relationships with key customers. This role will suit a hands‑on leader who can balance coaching, commercial discipline, change leadership, and day‑to‑day sales execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Coach, mentor, and develop a geographically dispersed team of Sales Representatives, including regular field coaching, one‑on‑one sessions, and clear development plans.
• Develop and execute local sales plans to protect existing business, grow customer spend, improve margin, and win new business across both territories.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and decision makers, supporting retention and sustainable growth.
• Use CRM, sales data, and regular performance reviews to identify opportunities, establish clear accountability, and take corrective action where required.
• Partner closely with the Warrnambool and Horsham Branch Managers, operations, customer service, and suppliers to align priorities and improve customer outcomes.
• Lead by example and build a supportive, accountable sales culture that is open to new ideas and improved ways of working.

What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you will bring:

• A strong sales background, ideally including experience leading, coaching, or developing field‑based sales teams.
• Proven ability to lift sales capability and performance through practical coaching, clear expectations, and consistent follow‑through.
• Commercial acumen with the ability to interpret sales data, develop practical plans, and execute growth and margin initiatives.
• A team‑oriented, down‑to‑earth approach and the ability to build credibility with sales teams, branch leadership, customers, and senior stakeholders.
• The confidence and resilience to influence established ways of working, lead change constructively, and maintain a collaborative approach.
• Experience in food service, FMCG, wholesale, distribution, or another field‑based sales environment will be highly regarded.
• You will also be comfortable travelling regularly between Warrnambool, Horsham, and surrounding customer territories.
