Job summary

GBA Consulting Engineers in Queensland is seeking an experienced Civil Roadwork Inspector for field-based inspections across the Isaac and Central Highlands Regional Council areas.

You will inspect works, monitor progress, maintain records, and report findings to project managers and engineers, ensuring work meets approved scopes and quality.

We are open to casual, contract, or permanent engagements, and value practical problem solving, independent work, and mentoring graduate engineers.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience inspecting, supervising or overseeing road construction and maintenance projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical advice during planning, construction and maintenance of road projects.
• Inspect completed works and review quality systems and records to ensure compliance.
• Review contractor plans, quality, environmental, safety and traffic management plans.
• Develop and implement surveillance and inspection plans.
• Monitor progress to ensure safe, efficient and high-quality delivery.
• Maintain inspection records, site diaries, photographs and test results; prepare reports.
• Mentor and support graduate engineers and less experienced inspectors.
