Job summary

The Department of Justice and Community Safety in Bendigo is seeking a Field Officer to supervise clients at community work sites and partner programs. You will induct and guide participants, ensure safety, and transport groups to placement sites using a 12-seater bus with trailer.

Weekend work is required, and you will perform site inspections, health and safety guidance, and administrative tasks from the Justice Service Centre before returning to base.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and ability to supervise clients.
• Solid understanding of Occupational Health and Safety practices.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to manage conflicts and adapt to changing field tasks.
• Willingness to perform a variety of tasks including manual work.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of clients at community work sites and programmes.
• Perform site inspections and assess hazards.
• Provide health and safety guidance and instruction to groups.
• Maintain tools and equipment and ensure repairs are undertaken.
• Induct and transport clients to partner sites.
• Monitor work quality and safety before returning to depot.
