Job summary

State Government of Victoria in Melbourne—Southern suburbs seeks a Field Officer to supervise clients at community work sites and participate in a range of field and office tasks. You will induct participants, monitor safety and transport them between locations, supporting not-for-profit partner sites across the region.

This full-time role requires weekend availability, travel across the South East Metro Region, and a current driver’s licence.

Qualifications

Excellent communication skills to instruct and supervise diverse work teams.
Strong understanding of Occupational Health and Safety practices and their practical application.
Ability to quickly build rapport and understand motivations to tailor support.
Proven ability to manage conflict and apply strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to model appropriate behaviours to develop new skills and work practices.
Carpentry or handyman skills; gardening, landscaping or painting skills.

Responsibilities

Supervise a team of clients at community work sites and other programs.
Conduct site inspections and assess hazards; provide WHS advice and instruction.
Maintain tools and equipment; ensure repairs are undertaken.
Induct and transport clients to partner sites; supervise tasks and monitor work quality.
Drive a 12-seater bus with trailer; hold a full and current driver’s licence.
Collaborate with the Community Work & Partnerships team and support regional programs.
