Job summary

Australian Training Company – Canberra ACT is seeking a Field Officer to connect young people with employers, training and career opportunities in the Canberra region. The Australian Training Company (ATC) is a leading provider of education, employment and training solutions, connecting people with opportunities to build skills, gain qualifications and develop rewarding careers.

Established in 1994, ATC has supported more than 20,000 apprentices, trainees and students across Australia. As an accredited Group Training Organisation (GTO) and Registered Training Organisation (RTO), we work closely with employers, schools, government and industry to create genuine pathways into employment and training.

About the opportunity

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Field Officer to join our Canberra team.

This is a people-focused role where you will make a real difference by connecting young people with employers, training and career opportunities. You will build strong relationships across the community, identify opportunities for Australian Apprentices and support apprentices and trainees throughout their journey.

No two days will be the same. You will spend time engaging with employers, schools, students and industry, attending workplaces, supporting pre-employment activities and helping to create successful employment and training outcomes.

What you'll do

As a Field Officer, you will:

Identify and secure apprenticeship and traineeship opportunities with employers.

Develop and maintain strong, ongoing relationships with host employers.

Work with schools, students and parents to promote VET and Australian Apprenticeship pathways.

Recruit and coordinate participants for pre-employment and employment programs.

Support apprentices and trainees through regular mentoring and workplace visits.

Manage a caseload of Australian Apprentices, providing practical support and guidance throughout their training journey.

Work collaboratively with RTOs, schools, employers and Government agencies.

You will ideally have:

Experience in relationship building, account management, recruitment, employment services, education, training or a similar role.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

The ability to build trust and positive relationships with a diverse range of people.

A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the ability to achieve results.

Strong organisation and time-management skills.

The confidence to work independently while also contributing to a supportive team.

A genuine interest in helping people develop their skills and employment opportunities.

A current and valid Australian driver's licence (essential).
