Job summary

Gravity Media (Australia) Pty Ltd – Melbourne VIC is seeking an Audio & Communications Technician to install, operate and maintain broadcast audio and communications systems for live events, OBs, and studio operations.

You will work in the field, based in Sydney or Melbourne with regular travel, including weekends and late nights, supporting production teams to ensure high-quality audio and seamless communications across broadcasts.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years' experience in event communications.
• Hands-on with industry-standard audio and communication systems.
• Understanding of live broadcast workflows.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to learn and work under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Configure, operate and maintain audio consoles and related broadcast equipment.
• Maintain production comms systems, intercoms and talkback.
• Provide technical audio and comms support for live TV, radio, events.
• Install and integrate audio equipment and networks in studio/remote environments.
• Diagnose and resolve faults to minimise disruption.
• Perform pre-production checks, line testing and calibration.
• Liaise with directors, producers and crew to coordinate requirements.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Ensure trucks have correct gear and are ready.
