Job summary

Gravity Media in Sydney/Melbourne is seeking an Audio & Communications Technician for field-based, full-time work. You will install, operate, and maintain broadcast audio and intercom systems across live events, OBs and studio operations.

The role requires travel within Australia, weekend and late-night work, and collaboration with production teams to ensure high-quality, uninterrupted communications.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years' experience in event communications using industry-standard audio systems.
• Understanding of broadcast environments and live production workflows.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Driver's license in NSW is preferable.
• Ability to work autonomously and with teams under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Configure, operate and maintain broadcast audio and intercom systems for live events.
• Support production teams with reliable audio transmission and clear communications across OBs and studios.
• Install and integrate audio equipment and networks in studio and remote environments.
• Troubleshoot audio, signal routing and connectivity faults to minimise disruption.
• Perform pre-production checks, level calibration and tests during broadcasts.
• Coordinate with directors, producers, and crews to meet technical requirements.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance of production trucks and gear.
• Ensure trucks are loaded with required equipment and keep kit presentable.
