Job summary

Collingwood College in Melbourne is seeking an Outdoor Education & Science Teacher for secondary years 7–10. The role focuses on planning, preparing and delivering programs to meet student outcomes, with emphasis on high-impact teaching, literacy and numeracy integration, and ongoing professional development.

The classroom teacher will also engage in reflective practice, collaborate with staff and parents, and contribute to school improvement aligned with district priorities.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the relevant curriculum and the ability to incorporate literacy and numeracy into teaching.
• Experience planning for and implementing high-impact teaching strategies.
• Experience monitoring and assessing student learning using data; providing feedback to students and parents.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with students, parents, colleagues and the school community.
• Commitment to reflecting on practice and engaging in ongoing professional learning.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of groups of students and individual students.
• Contribute to development, implementation and evaluation of curriculum programs.
• Undertake other classroom teaching related duties as determined by the Principal.
• Participate in parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions.
• Undertaking other non-teaching supervisory duties.
