Qualifications

  • Ability to maintain accurate records and follow quality control procedures.
  • Strong organisational skills to coordinate priorities and logistics.
  • Current driver’s licence and ability to operate site vehicles safely.

Responsibilities

About the role

We are looking for a Field Assistant to help the Orebody Knowledge team deliver safe, efficient and compliant field operations. Reporting to the Supervisor Operations, this role supports drilling programs, sampling activities and operational logistics while maintaining high standards of quality, safety and equipment readiness.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys practical field-based work and wants to develop knowledge across geological, drilling and operational disciplines.

What you'll be doing

Reporting to the Supervisor Operations and working in a challenging and exciting environment, within RDMT (Resource Development & Mine Technical, you will:

  • Coordinate logistics, consumables and sample movements to support drilling and field programs.
  • Maintain quality control practices for sampling, data collection and operational compliance activities.
  • Support geologists and operational teams with field tasks, communications and site coordination requirements.
  • Monitor drilling consumable inventories and arrange maintenance activities to maximise equipment availability.
  • Collaborate with contractors, warehouse teams and operational stakeholders to ensure timely field execution.
  • Conduct inspections, audits and compliance activities in line with company standards and statutory requirements.
  • Drive vehicles in Autonomous Haulage Mining Operational areas, providing logistical support.

Required for Success
  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting field, operational, drilling or maintenance activities in a safety-focused environment.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and follow quality control procedures for sampling or data collection activities.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to coordinate competing priorities and logistics requirements.
  • Current driver's licence and ability to operate site vehicles and field equipment safely.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with operational and technical stakeholders.
Helpful for Success
  • Experience working with drilling, geology or exploration teams.
  • Exposure to SAP or similar maintenance and inventory management systems.
  • Knowledge of statutory inspections, compliance processes or contractor management activities.
  • HR Vehicle Licence (or above)
  • Relevant High risk work licences including Forklift and Dogging.
  • AHS RTIO Pit Permit qualification.
  • Relevant experience as an HSR or experience contributing to and/or running toolboxes.

Where you'll be working

Operations is located on the lands thePuutuKuntiKurramaandPinikuraandMuntulguraGurumaPeoples in the eastern Pilbara, approximately 60 kilometres from Tom Price. Originally part of Greater Brockman, operations began in 2010 for the Brockman 4 deposit.

We are extending the life of our Brockman hub by developing the Brockman Syncline 1mineproject. Brockman Syncline will have the capacity to process up to 34 million tonnes per annum of iron ore, leveraging our existing plants. Construction has started, with first ore expected in 2027.

There are 3 villages that are part of the operations, Brockman 4, West Pilbara andNammuldiVillage. With afly-in fly‑outworkforce of around 850, our team commutes from Perth, Geraldton, Albany and Busselton.
