SOS Detailing & Towing in Mackay is seeking a skilled fibreglass technician to join our family-owned team. You will work on fibreglass components, perform repairs from cosmetic to restoration, and travel to client sites as needed.

We value pride in workmanship and hands-on problem-solving in a friendly, supportive shop. The role offers varied projects, a mix of workshop and on-site work, and opportunities to travel for projects.

About the Role

You’ll work across a range of fibreglass components, from minor cosmetic repairs through to more involved restoration work.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Fibreglass repairs and restoration
• Gelcoat repairs, colour matching and finishing
• Sanding, grinding, filling and surface preparation
• Polishing and finishing fibreglass components
• Assessing damage and determining appropriate repair methods
• Detailing and finishing truck components
• Maintaining a clean and organised workspace
• Occasional travel to client sites, including some projects requiring up to 5 days away
• Fibreglass repairs and restoration
• Gelcoat repairs and finishing
• Sanding, grinding, filling and surface preparation
• Colour matching and finishing repairs
• Polishing and sealing fibreglass components
• Identifying damage and determining appropriate repair methods
• General detailing and finishing of truck parts
• Working independently and as part of our team
• Travelling to client sites when required

About You

We're looking for someone who takes pride in their workmanship, has excellent attention to detail and enjoys working with their hands.

Ideally, you'll have:

• Previous experience in fibreglass repairs, boat building, gelcoat work or related composite repairs
• A good understanding of repair materials, preparation and finishing techniques
• The ability to work independently and problem-solve
• A positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Willingness to travel for work when required
