Job summary

Baiada Poultry is seeking an experienced Breeder Farm Leading Hand to support day-to-day operations at the Tamworth farm. The role requires coordinating a team, upholding animal welfare standards and safety, and delivering on production targets.

You will report to the Farm Manager, be available Monday to Sunday, and help implement company policies while maintaining high levels of quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Experience leading a team on a commercial poultry farm.

  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Must hold a current Driver's Licence.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day operations and manage staff to meet KPIs.
  • Allocate production tasks and monitor output.
  • Maintain workplace safety and animal welfare standards.
  • Participate in safety audits and training.
  • Collaborate with Farm Manager to plan and optimise workflows.
  • Communicate effectively with team and management.

At Baiada Poultry our primary objective is to provide our customers with the highest quality products and excellent service.

We are currently seeking an experienced Breeder Farm Leading Hand to support day-to-day poultry operations at our Tamworth Farm (Woodleigh 2 Farm). The successful candidate needs to have availability from Monday to Sunday.

Key Responsibilities (Include but are not limited to):
  • Leading a team of employees, establish and manage effective working relationships
  • Actively lead day to day operations on a working farm, assisting the Farm Manager to meet key performance indicators
  • Receiving production instructions and allocating work to employees
  • Controlling the standards of work and work output to targets
  • Identifying poor performance and behaviour and refer the matter to Farm Manager or Breeder Supervisor
  • Develop and maintain workplace systems
  • Training and assessing employees, ensuring all team members are adequately trained and have completed the required documentation
  • Participate in safety audits and safety initiatives
  • Acquire and analyse workplace information and contribute to planning
  • Manage personal and teamwork priorities
  • Maintain high safety standards within the team, regularly access the work area to identify any issues and organise corrective action
  • Maintain high standards of animal welfare within the team and ensure all team members have appropriate training
  • Communicate with the team and Farm Manager in a regular planned format and as required
Requirements:
  • High level communication skills – verbal and written
  • Demonstrated skills/experience in working on a commercial poultry farm,conflict resolution and team management
  • High level of attention to detail regarding animal welfare and production standards
  • Ability to work independently, show initiative and assist the Farm Manager in the day-to-day operations of a commercial poultry farm
  • Ability to implement Company policies and legislation to ensure compliance of the Company
  • Positive attitude with the ability to remain calm under pressure and communicate
  • Current Driver's Licence
