This is a beef and sheep farm position involving stock management, yard work, husbandry tasks, pasture management, infrastructure maintenance, and machinery operation across a working farm.
Moving and mustering stock, mostly on a motorbike and quad with working dogs
Yard work: drafting, weighing, loading and unloading trucks
Cattle husbandry: ear tagging, marking calves, vaccinating, drenching, weaning, and helping with preg testing and AI programs
Sheep husbandry: lamb marking, crutching, drenching, jetting, vaccinating
Keeping accurate records in Mobble
Lambing and calving rounds in late winter and spring, often in cold, wet weather
Rotational grazing and paddock moves under the farm's grazing plan
Feeding out hay, silage and grain over winter and through the autumn feed gap
Assisting with pasture renovation, sowing, and weed spraying
Fencing, including electric fencing, plus gates, yards and laneways; maintaining troughs, tanks, pumps and dams; upkeep of vehicles, bikes and machinery
Manual car licence is expected
Tractor or loader ticket, ChemCert (Farm Chemical Users course), HR truck licence and CFA membership are a plus
Physical fitness and a willingness to get stuck in
Following WHS rules: PPE, quad and bike safety, chemical handling, and safe work around stock and machinery
Reliability, initiative, and care for gear and animals
Taking direction well and working in a small team, family-run
Keeping records of treatments, withholding periods (LPA/NVD compliance), stock numbers and rainfall, and reporting problems early
