Job summary

Tassal Group is seeking a Farm Attendant at Macquarie Harbour on Tassie’s west coast. You will be out on the water daily and play a pivotal role in Tassal’s success by caring for salmon health and welfare while supporting harvest tasks.

The role offers job stability with a 7 days on, 7 days off roster, a paid day off for your birthday, access to salary packaging, and strongly supports workplace wellbeing for you and your family.

Qualifications

• Cert III in Aquaculture (or willingness to obtain).
• Team player with strong communication.
• Attention to detail and highly organized.
• Willing to learn and adapt to farm tasks.

Responsibilities

• Fish husbandry: Monitoring our salmon’s health is vital; your dedication to fish husbandry will contribute to welfare standards.
• Inputting nets: Inputting nets into designated areas to ensure optimal conditions for growth and harvest.
• General labouring duties: Inspecting pens, nets, feed equipment and performing maintenance as required.
• Staying compliant: Follow company rules, procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Harvest help: Assist with harvest tasks as needed.

Join the Tassal team as a Farm Attendant and get out on the water in the daily. We have an exciting opportunity to join our team at our Macquarie Harbour site on Tassie’s rugged west coast, in this role you will play a pivotal part in not just the teams success but also Tassal’s overall success.

Daily Requirements

• Fish Husbandry: Monitoring our salmon’s health is vital, your dedication to fish husbandry will contribute to the high standards of welfare we uphold at Tassal.
• Inputting Nets: Your role will involve skilfully inputting nets into designated areas, ensuring optimal conditions for fish growth and harvest.
