Mercy Community in Brisbane is seeking a passionate Family Support Worker to join the Two Hearts programme team in Herston. This casual role involves nights and weekends with penalty rates and contributes to a safe, supportive environment for vulnerable pregnant women and new mothers and their babies.

You will provide practical and emotional support to help families secure housing, access perinatal and mental health services, and improve parenting skills.

Qualifikationen

• Certificate III or higher in Community Services or related discipline is required.
• Current and valid Paid Blue Card (Queensland Working With Children Check) or ability to apply.
• Queensland Provisional Green or above Driver Licence.
• First Aid and CPR Certificate (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement).
• Vaccination against whooping cough (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement).

Aufgaben

• Provide information, education, modelling and support to mothers to develop independent living and baby care skills.
• Support mothers to implement routines and feeding schedules per plans by the Coordinator.
• Transport mothers to pre-approved appointments/outings as required.
• Engage mothers in supervised weekend outings with the whole house planning and attending.
