Job summary

Centacare North Queensland – Mount Isa QLD is seeking a passionate Family Support Worker for the Bridge Program. You will work directly with families through a case management model to identify barriers and develop practical strategies for sustainable change.

This hands-on role builds trusted relationships within Mount Isa, supporting early intervention, parenting skills, safety planning, and collaboration with community and services.

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualifications in a relevant human services or community development field with at least 12 months' relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of qualifications and experience.
• Experience in a similar role using a strengths-based approach to early intervention and family support.
• Experience and skills in undertaking safety and risk assessments with vulnerable families.

Responsibilities

• Provide case management and direct support to individuals and families.
• Strengthen parenting and household skills with practical, strengths-based strategies.
• Conduct safety and risk assessments and support safety and wellbeing of children at home.
• Contribute to community education, groups and activities; maintain accurate case records.
