Job summary

Centacare North Queensland is seeking a passionate Family Support Worker for the Bridge Program in Mount Isa. You will deliver hands-on, culturally responsive early intervention and case management to support families and children, building trust within the local community.

Key responsibilities include safety assessments, strengthening parenting skills, and collaboration with community and government services, underpinned by a strengths-based approach.

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualifications in a relevant human services or community development field
• Minimum 12 months of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of qualifications and experience
• Experience in a strengths-based approach to early intervention and family support
• Ability to meet Working with Children checks and worker screening requirements

Responsibilities

• Provide culturally appropriate early intervention support to families
• Deliver case management services and practical strategies to improve family functioning
• Build trusted relationships with families and the Mount Isa community
• Maintain accurate case notes and collaborate with community and service agencies
