Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct counseling and therapeutic interventions to families and individuals experiencing distress or conflict.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments of family functioning and identify areas for support and development.
• Develop and implement family-centered intervention plans, working collaboratively with family members.
• Facilitate referrals to appropriate community resources, such as parenting support groups, childcare services, and emergency shelters.
• Advocate for the needs of children and families within the social service system.
• Maintain accurate and confidential case records in compliance with professional standards.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification.
• Registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP).
• Demonstrated experience in family social work, counseling, or related child and family services.
• Strong knowledge of child development, family systems, and relevant legislation.
• Excellent communication, empathy, and conflict-resolution skills.
