Kanda on the Sunshine Coast seeks a dedicated professional to support children, young people and families through practical parenting skills, routines and connected supports. You’ll bring strong communication, relationship-building, and a respectful, strengths-based approach, plus a WWC Blue Card, NDIS screening, and current First Aid/CPR.
The role requires a valid driver’s license, flexibility across a 7-day roster, and relevant Certificate IV or Diploma in Community Services or related field;
You’re supporting children, young people and families who each have their own experiences, strengths, challenges and goals. One day might involve working alongside a parent to build confidence and develop practical parenting skills. Another might involve helping a family establish routines, connect with the right supports or work through a challenging situation. You might help parents recognise their strengths and build on what they’re already doing well. You might support a young person to feel heard, understood and valued. You might help a child feel safe, settled and supported at home. You might listen to a parent who is having a difficult day and help them work through what comes next. And sometimes, you’ll need to build trust with a family while supporting them through complex and challenging circumstances. That’s where your ability to stay calm, build genuine relationships and see the strengths in others really matters. You can be the person who helps a family see what’s possible.
