Job summary

Uniting Vic.Tas is seeking an Orange Door practitioner in Melbourne to join a multidisciplinary intake team serving vulnerable families. You will assess, plan and refer for children and families affected by family violence, using Best Interests frameworks and safety planning.

You will be supported by Team Leaders and practice leads with a focus on safe, high-quality outcomes. You will have a relevant Social Work degree, current VIC driver's licence, and strong risk assessment skills,

Qualifications

• Must hold a relevant degree in Social Work or related discipline (AQF Level 7+).
• Current Victorian Driver’s Licence.
• Experience in child, youth and families welfare.
• Well-developed risk assessment and management skills.
• Understanding of MARAM, Best Interests Principles and the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality responses to children, young people and families experiencing family violence and need support.
• Complete initial and ongoing assessments using the Best Interests framework.
• Develop Family Action Plans and Safety Plans and make referrals to other services.
• Advocate for client families and provide support to families.
• Work in a matrix management model with Team Leader supervision.
