Job summary

SafeWater Solutions on the Gold Coast is seeking a Factory Hand on a casual basis at our Kirra (Coolangatta) site. You will support production, assist with fabricating PVC/PE plastics and aluminium frames, and help with assembly and packaging.

This role requires physical capability, attention to quality, and compliance with safety rules. Training is provided, and you’ll work with a small team in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a manufacturing, assembly, or factory environment is desirable.
• Physical capability to perform manual labour, including standing for extended periods and lifting up to 20 kilograms.
• Ability to follow instructions and work safely in compliance with workplace health and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• PVC and PE plastic fabrication and assembly.
• Fabrication of Aluminium frames and brackets ready for powder coating.

• Preparing materials and components for production processes.

About the role

We are seeking a Factory Hand to join SafeWater Solutions on a casual basis. This role is based in Coolangatta (Kirra), QLD 4225 and offers flexible work opportunities within our manufacturing and assembly operations. As a Factory Hand, you will play a vital role in supporting our production processes, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety standards are maintained across our small facility in Kirra.

What you’ll be doing

• PVC and PE plastic fabrication and assembly
• Fabrication of Aluminium frames and brackets ready for powder coating
• Performing manual assembly and packaging tasks to meet production schedules and quality standards
• Preparing materials and components for production processes
• Conducting quality inspections on finished products to identify defects or inconsistencies
• Maintaining a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations
• Operating walkie stacker, drills, presses, grinders and other hand tools as required
• Assisting with inventory management and stock control
• Following standard operating procedures and company safety guidelines at all times
• Reporting any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisory staff
• Supporting team members to ensure smooth production operations

What we’re looking for

• Previous experience in a manufacturing, assembly, or factory environment is highly desirable
• Physical capability to perform manual labour, including standing for extended periods and lifting items weighing up to 20 kilograms
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining quality standards
• Ability to follow instructions and work safely in compliance with workplace health and safety requirements
• Strong work ethic and reliability, with flexibility to accommodate casual work arrangements
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Basic mathematical skills for counting, measuring, and recording data
• Willingness to operate machinery and equipment safely after appropriate training
• Good communication skills and a positive attitude towards continuous learning
