Job summary

Located at Prestons, BaptistCare’s Blue Hills Manor Aged Care Home is a welcoming senior living site that delivers 24-hour care and nourishment. This role focuses on great food that creates comfort, celebration and connection for residents.

The part-time Chef will work afternoons (11am–6:00pm) with minimal late nights, may act as Head Chef in their absence, and lead a warm, values‑driven kitchen that partners with residents and the village community to design meaningful menus.

Qualifications

• Commercial Cookery qualification (Cert III or equivalent).
• 3–5 years’ experience cooking in aged care or similar environment/restaurant experience.
• Demonstrated experience applying HACCP principles.
• Proven experience leading a team and setting a values-based culture.

Responsibilities

• Lead an energetic kitchen in an aged care environment.
• Design menus with residents to reflect local flavours and favourites.
• Maintain food safety standards and HACCP compliance.
• Provide hands-on cooking and ensure high-quality meals.
• Support Head Chef when they are away from the kitchen.

We offer a competitive salary based on your previous experience from$30.31 - $34.89/hr + superannuation + penalties + salary packaging.
