URBNSURF Sydney is seeking a hands-on facilities and grounds manager to maintain our grounds, ensure safety and compliance, and deliver a great guest experience for a seven‑day operation. You will lead grounds upkeep, manage contractors and the cleaning team, plan maintenance around events, and keep records audit-ready.
A Working with Children Check and a Certificate III in Horticulture or a trade are preferred; CPR or lifeguard qualifications would be a bonus, and being comfortable around water
Behind every perfect wave is a park that looks and runs perfectly. That's where you come in ...
Reporting to the Park Manager, you’ll make sure URBNSURF Sydney is a well-maintained, great-looking, compliant and functional place for our guests and crew.
You’ll look after our grounds hands‑on, and coordinate contractors and lead our internal cleaning team.
This is a practical role for someone who takes pride in how a place looks and works. You’ll work closely with our park operations teams to plan work around a busy, seven-day operation.
Maintain our grounds, landscaping, pathways and lagoon surrounds so they look great and are safe for guests.
Plan and deliver a regular grounds maintenance program, adjusting it for the seasons, peak periods and events.
Schedule planned and reactive maintenance, making sure contractor work is safe, on time, on budget and to a high standard.
Manage building compliance, including essential fire safety measures and statutory servicing, keeping records up to date and audit-ready.
Lead and roster our internal cleaning team, making sure the park is clean, tidy and guest‑ready every day.
Run regular site inspections and fix issues before our guests notice them.
Carry out minor repairs and general maintenance where it's safe and appropriate.
Help manage the facilities budget, purchasing and supplies.
We’re looking for someone who is practical, reliable and takes real pride in how the park looks and works.
Proven experience managing building compliance, grounds management and facility cleaning.
Experience leading or supervising a team, such as a cleaning or grounds crew.
A Working with Children Check (essential).
A Certificate III in Horticulture, Carpentry or a trade would be highly regarded.
As we’re a surf park surrounded by water, CPR and Ocean Rescue or Lifeguard qualifications would be a bonus, but aren’t essential. Although being comfortable around water is a must.
A great eye for detail and presentation, and a safety-first mindset.
Clear, friendly communication with crew, contractors and guests.
A love of the outdoors, surfing or water sports would be a big plus.
You’re a grounds maintenance whizz who takes pride in a job done well. You notice the patchy lawn, the overflowing bin and the flickering light, and you sort it before anyone else has to ask. You know that a great guest experience relies on everything behind the scenes working as it should, and you’re happy to roll up your sleeves to make sure it does.
Have a Surf Park as your office.
Staff surf before or after work (space permitting).
Work with people who are passionate about what they do.
Be part of an awesome crew that’s creating a new category of surf experience in Australia.
Surfing is better when everyone feels welcome in the water, and the same goes for our team. We welcome applications from people of all genders, ages, cultures, backgrounds, abilities and sexualities, and from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. If you need any adjustments during the recruitment process, just let us know.
And if you’re excited about this role but don’t tick every box, we’d still love to hear from you.
