Halcyon Knights is seeking an experienced Facilities Manager for a South Australian State Government department based in Mawson Lakes. This full‑time, ASAP‑start role focuses on hands‑on facilities and asset management across a portfolio of assets.

You will manage day‑to‑day facilities services, budgets and external providers, ensuring safety, compliance and high service levels while engaging with a broad range of stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day facilities services, maintenance programs and external service providers across assets.
• Manage facilities maintenance including preventive maintenance, repairs, upgrades and improvements.
• Develop and manage facilities budgets, monitor expenditures and identify cost efficiencies.
• Manage contractor performance against contracts, KPIs and SLAs.
• Coordinate inspections and ensure compliance with building, safety and industry requirements.
• Plan and deliver facilities improvement projects with internal teams and external partners.
• Respond to and resolve facilities‑related issues and stakeholder concerns.

Facilities Manager - SA State Government

Location: Mawson Lakes, SA

Employment: Full-time

Contract: ASAP - June 2027

Rate: $69-$71 per hour + superannuation

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Facilities Manager to join a South Australian State Government department based in Mawson Lakes.

This is a hands‑on facilities and asset management role where you will play an important part in ensuring facilities are safe, well‑maintained, compliant and operating effectively. You will work closely with contractors, suppliers, internal stakeholders and other government agencies to deliver high‑quality facilities services and maintenance outcomes.

About the role As Facilities Manager, you will be responsible for the day‑to‑day management of facilities services, maintenance programs and external service providers across a portfolio of assets.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing facilities maintenance, including preventative maintenance, repairs, upgrades and improvement works.
• Developing and managing facilities budgets, monitoring expenditure and identifying opportunities for cost efficiencies.
• Managing relationships with contractors, suppliers and service providers to ensure quality, timely and compliant delivery.
• Monitoring contractor performance against contracts, KPIs and service level expectations.
• Conducting regular inspections and coordinating corrective actions to ensure facilities meet relevant building, safety and industry requirements.
• Monitoring the condition and performance of buildings, plant and equipment and developing appropriate maintenance and replacement strategies.
• Working with internal teams and external partners to plan and deliver facilities improvement projects.
• Responding to and resolving facilities‑related issues, complaints and stakeholder concerns.
• Building strong relationships with a broad range of stakeholders and providing practical advice on facilities matters.
• Identifying opportunities to improve facilities processes, systems and service delivery.

About you We are looking for an experienced facilities or property professional who can confidently manage competing priorities, contractors and stakeholder expectations.

You will ideally have:

• Demonstrated experience in facilities, property or asset management.
• Strong experience managing contractors, suppliers and service providers.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience managing budgets and monitoring expenditure.
• Strong knowledge of facilities maintenance, compliance and building requirements.
• The ability to identify issues, assess options and implement practical solutions.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in property or a related discipline are highly desirable, or equivalent professional experience.
• Property Manager Registration is required.
