Job summary

The University of Melbourne seeks a facilities leader to manage maintenance for the Kenneth Myer Building, ensuring safety, compliance and continuity of research operations. You will act as the principal contact for maintenance and minor works and drive continuous improvement across asset performance and building operations.

You will coordinate across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and laboratory services, supervise contractors, and manage budgets to deliver compliant, cost-effective outcomes

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent facilities management experience in complex, highly serviced buildings.
• Strong contractor supervision and performance monitoring.
• Experience with OHS, risk management and procurement frameworks.
• Broad technical aptitude across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and laboratory services.
• Familiarity with bioresources, containment facilities, and regulatory safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Monitor BAS and coordinate maintenance to keep labs safe and reliable.
• Coordinate reactive and planned works across PC2 laboratories and spaces.
• Lead stakeholder communications and manage diverse relationships.
• Manage contractors, budgets and invoices for compliant maintenance and minor projects.
• Maintain engineering records, asset plans and risk controls.
