Job summary

Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN) is seeking a reliable Handyperson to maintain Torrens Valley International Residence in Modbury. The role involves keeping facilities safe, supporting patient care environments, and coordinating with contractors on planned maintenance.

Ideal candidates will have multi-trade knowledge, a current driver's licence, strong communication skills, and a solid understanding of workplace safety requirements in healthcare settings.

Qualifications

• Experience in general maintenance or handyperson role in a large/complex facility.
• Knowledge across trades: carpentry, plumbing, painting, or electrical (where permitted without a licence).
• Current driver’s licence required.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
• Understanding of WH&S in environments with vulnerable people.
• Familiarity with maintenance management systems.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance, repairs and minor trade work.
• Respond to maintenance requests promptly, prioritising patient care environments.
• Conduct routine inspections and identify faults early.
• Coordinate with facilities team and contractors for planned maintenance.
• Receive and distribute large deliveries.
