Job summary
Sanitarium Health & Wellbeing in Brisbane is seeking a practical Trades Assistant & Facilities Maintenance Assistant to support upkeep, safety and presentation of our site. This hands-on role covers grounds care, minor repairs, and general facilities support.
You will operate grounds equipment, use power tools, and assist contractors while keeping the site clean and safe. A current Queensland forklift licence and a valid driver's licence are preferred; experience in a similar facilities role is
Qualifications
- Experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, gardening or property upkeep.
- Basic handyperson and building maintenance skills.
- Experience using mowers, brush cutters, hedge trimmers and power tools.
- Good physical fitness and commitment to safety.
Responsibilities
- Mowing, edging, pruning, weeding and general garden maintenance
- Maintaining pathways, fencing, signage and outdoor areas
- Completing minor building maintenance, painting and repairs
- Operating grounds maintenance equipment, power tools and hand tools
- Conducting basic site inspections and reporting maintenance issues
- Supporting preventative maintenance and contractors on site
- Operating a forklift to move materials and equipment
- Keeping the site safe, clean and well presented
