Job summary

Marchem Automotive is seeking a reliable facilities cleaner to manage floor care, restroom sanitation, dusting, and waste disposal across our site in Melbourne. The role involves operating cleaning equipment, following SDS guidelines, and performing light maintenance tasks.

The ideal candidate will have 1–3 years of commercial cleaning or facilities maintenance experience, acceptable physical stamina, and a valid police check.

Qualifications

• Education: Minimum Year 10 or high school diploma.
• Experience: 1 to 3 years in commercial cleaning or facilities maintenance.
• Knowledge: Safe handling of cleaning chemicals, SDS, and industrial machinery.
• Physical fitness: Able to walk, bend, stand long periods and lift up to 20 kg.
• Clearance: Valid police check or working-with-background clearance.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, vacuum, and mop floors daily; strip, seal, and polish floors as scheduled.
• Scrub and sanitize toilets, sinks, mirrors, and fixtures; restock consumables.
• Dust high and low surfaces including desks, windowsills, vents, and office equipment.
• Empty all trash bins, replace liners, and transport waste to disposal areas.
• Clean countertops, sinks, microwaves, and dining tables in kitchens/breakrooms.
• Perform basic, non-trade repairs such as changing light bulbs or fixing loose handles.
• Conduct routine facility inspections to identify safety hazards, damages, or repair needs.

Job description

Floor Care: Sweep, vacuum, and mop hard floors and carpets daily; strip, seal, and polish floors as scheduled.

Restrooms: Scrub and sanitize toilets, sinks, mirrors, and fixtures; restock consumables like soap and paper products.

General Dusting: Dust high and low surfaces, including desks, windowsills, vents, and office equipment.

Waste Management: Empty all trash bins, replace liners, and transport waste to designated disposal areas.

Kitchen/Breakrooms: Clean countertops, sinks, microwaves, and dining tables.

Site Maintenance:-

Minor Repairs: Perform basic, non-trade fixes such as changing light bulbs, replacing air filters, fixing loose door handles, or unblocking drains.

Facility Inspections: Conduct routine checks of the building infrastructure to identify safety hazards, damages, or repair needs.

Qualifications & Requirements:-

Experience: 1 to 3 years of experience in commercial cleaning or facilities maintenance.

Knowledge: Safe handling of cleaning chemicals, industrial machinery (buffers, vacuums lawnmowers, ride on sweepers), and Material Safety Data Sheets (SDS).

Physical Fitness: High stamina; ability to walk, bend, stand for long periods, and lift heavy equipment (up to 20 kg).

Clearance: Valid police check or working-with-background clearance is required by the site.
