Spotlight Retail Group in Melbourne is seeking a Facilities Category Manager to lead essential services such as fire safety and security hardware across our national portfolio. You will ensure compliance with state regulations, drive vendor performance, oversee maintenance activities, and partner with stakeholders to deliver reliable service with minimal risk.

This role offers exposure to large-scale assets, budget oversight, and opportunities to implement proactive improvements and cost

Qualifications

• Experience in facilities management with emphasis on essential services and security.
• Knowledge of compliance regulations across Australian states.
• Proven vendor management and contractor performance.
• Experience with building maintenance and minor projects.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder skills.
• IT literate with Microsoft products.
• Customer service oriented and collaborative.

Responsibilities

• Lead the management and delivery of essential services (fire safety) and security hardware (CCTV, alarms) across SGH assets.
• Ensure compliance with essential services legislation and standards across all Australian states.
• Oversee planned and reactive maintenance activities, including minor capital works projects.
• Drive vendor management practices, including contractor performance and portfolio reporting.
• Engage with stakeholders at all levels to meet delivery expectations with minimal risk.
• Conduct root cause analysis of facility-related issues and implement solutions.
• Review monthly financial reports to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Ensure all work aligns with WHS and company standards.
• Be responsive to after-hours contact centre requirements as needed.

As our Facilities Category Manager, you will be responsible for the strategic delivery and management of essential services (including fire safety systems) and security hardware (CCTV and alarm) categories across our national portfolio. This role is critical to ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations in every Australian state, while driving high standards in vendor management and service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the management and delivery of essential services (fire safety, emergency systems) and security hardware (CCTV, alarms) categories for all SGH assets.
• Ensure strict compliance with essential services legislation and standards across all Australian states.
• Oversee planned and reactive maintenance activities, including minor capital works projects.
• Drive strong vendor management practices, including contractor performance, negotiations, and portfolio performance reporting.
• Engage with stakeholders at all levels to meet delivery expectations with minimal financial and operational risk.
• Conduct root cause analysis of facility-related issues and implement effective solutions.
• Review monthly financial reports to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Ensure all work is delivered in line with compliance, Work Health & Safety, and company standards.
• Be responsive to after-hours contact centre requirements as needed.

About You

• Demonstrated experience in facilities management, with a focus on essential services (fire safety) and security hardware.
• In-depth knowledge of compliance and essential services regulations in all Australian states.
• Proven track record in vendor management and contractor performance.
• Experience managing building maintenance, inspections, and minor projects.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• IT literate (Microsoft products).
• Strong customer service orientation and a collaborative team approach.
