Job summary

Department of Primary Industries (Queensland) is seeking a Facilities Support Officer to coordinate facilities and asset management activities that support the National Fire Ant Eradication Program. You will work with contractors and internal teams to keep workplaces safe, efficient and well maintained while assisting with accommodation planning and site access.

This role is ideal for an organised, hands-on professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

• Current C class driver's licence.
• Ability to safely lift and move items up to 20kg.
• Forklift licence (Desirable).

Responsibilities

• Support a wide range of facilities and asset management activities, including maintenance requests, office relocations, workplace accommodation planning, site access and security management.
• Liaise with contractors, service providers, property managers and internal stakeholders to ensure facilities issues are resolved efficiently and services are delivered to a high standard.
• Maintain asset registers, facilities records and administrative systems to support compliance, reporting and effective asset management practices.
• Support procurement and contract administration processes, including raising purchase requests and monitoring service delivery outcomes.
• Provide practical advice and support to staff on facilities and asset management policies, procedures and requirements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives while working collaboratively across teams to deliver reliable and responsive business support.
