Job summary

The Department of Primary Industries (DPI) is seeking a Facilities Officer to support the National Fire Ant Eradication Program in Queensland. You will lead facilities, fleet and asset operations, ensuring safe, efficient and cost-effective service delivery across program sites.

With a current C class driver's licence, ability to lift up to 20kg, and strong stakeholder engagement skills, you will manage contracts and procurement activities while driving continuous improvement and high-quality

The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting the National Fire Ant Eradication Program's operations through the delivery of high-quality facilities, fleet and asset management services.

As the Facilities Officer, you will lead the delivery of facilities, fleet and asset. You will lead the delivery of facilities, fleet and asset management services that support the Program's operational success. You'll provide expert advice, oversee resources and contracts, drive continuous improvement, and work closely with stakeholders to ensure safe, efficient and cost-effective service delivery.

In this role, you will:

Lead facilities, fleet and asset operations to ensure resources, infrastructure and maintenance activities support operational requirements.

Provide expert facilities management advice and drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance service delivery, compliance and efficiency.

Manage contracts, procurement activities and stakeholder relationships to deliver cost-effective facilities services and strong business outcomes.

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this role, you will have:

A current C class driver's licence.

The ability to safely lift and move items up to 20kg.

The capacity to drive for extended periods as part of operational requirements.

A Forklift Licence is desirable but not essential.

You will bring experience in facilities, fleet or asset management, strong stakeholder engagement skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic operational environment.
