Job summary

McArthur is seeking an experienced Finance Coordinator to support a high-profile Commonwealth organisation within its Finance function. This APS6/EL1 level role focuses on external budgets, NPP costings, CBMS, PBS and PAES, and capital budgeting, delivering high-level financial advice.

Reporting to a senior Finance Manager, you will work across the Commonwealth budget cycle, providing timely and practical financial guidance to internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience in Commonwealth Government budgeting and financial management.
• Advanced knowledge of Australian Government budgeting framework.
• Experience developing or reviewing NPP costings, budget submissions and forward estimates.
• Strong ability to provide clear financial advice to senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide advice on NPP costings with detailed justifications.
• Lead external budget and capital budget processes.
• Maintain external budget information in CBMS.
• Prepare Portfolio Budget Statements (PBS) and PAES.
• Support capital budgeting and capital management planning.
• Coordinate responses to Estimates-related requirements.
• Provide technical advice on budget and resource management.
• Contribute to ministerial submissions and Senate Estimates material.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver practical financial guidance.
• Support budgeting tools and process improvements.
