Job summary

Allen Audit & Advisory is seeking an External Auditor to join a permanent full-time team in Robina on the Gold Coast. The role focuses on external audits, trust accounts for regulated entities, and broader compliance work, offering opportunities for professional growth.

You will plan and conduct engagements, assess financial records and controls, and prepare detailed audit documentation while liaising with clients to resolve findings. A relevant degree and external audit experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Auditing or closely related field.
• Experience in external audit, assurance or financial audit work.
• Experience undertaking audit testing and preparing audit workpapers and reports.
• Sound knowledge of accounting principles, audit procedures and compliance requirements.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple engagements and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in Excel and accounting/audit software.
• Experience auditing solicitor, real estate or regulated trust accounts is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage and conduct external audit and assurance engagements from commencement through to completion.
• Examine financial records and supporting documentation for accuracy and compliance.
• Review accounting processes and controls as part of audit engagements.
• Perform audit testing, compliance testing and substantive procedures.
• Conduct trust account audits for regulated entities.
• Review reconciliations and follow up discrepancies.
• Prepare audit workpapers and reports with findings and conclusions.
• Identify issues and provide practical audit recommendations.
• Liaise with clients to obtain information and discuss findings and required actions.
• Maintain complete audit documentation and meet agreed timeframes.
