Job summary

Chinova Resources Pty Ltd is seeking an Exploration Geologist/GIS and Database Administrator to supervise drilling and manage geospatial data, GIS and databases in a dynamic geology team. You will coordinate field data, keep Geobank and GIS tools up to date, and deliver timely analytical reporting while developing SOPs.

The role requires a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Geology and at least 3 years of related experience in geology, GIS and database management, plus experience with Geobank,

Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated Exploration Geologist/GIS and Database Administrator responsible for drilling supervision and Geospatial, GIS and Database administration.

What the role entails:

Reporting to the Exploration Manager, you will be part of a highly motivated and successful Geology team. You will be responsible for:

Drilling supervision as required

• Administration of Chinova’s Geobank database
• Field data coordination and integration
• Maintain the standard suite of GIS products with the latest information:
• Timely reporting of analytical data as it becomes available
• Development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• GIS Management
• Sample and despatch procedures
• QAQC protocols

To succeed in this role, you will have:

• Bachelor of Science with Honours in Geology
• Minimum of 3 years' relevant experience in Geology and GIS/Database management
• Experience with drilling supervision
• Experience in using GIS and 3D modelling software (Micromine, MapInfo, QGIS)
• Experience in data management and quality control
• Experience with using database package (Geobank, acQuire)
• Ability to produce maps and diagrams for corporate use
