Job summary

Ashurst Perkins Coie is seeking a Senior Expertise Counsel to join the Corporate Transactions team in Sydney. This role targets individuals committed to long-term career development, offering backing for professional growth and ambition.

The ideal candidate has extensive corporate law experience, including public and private M&A, capital raisings, and ASX rules, along with a commercial mindset and strong drafting capabilities.

Qualifications

• 7-8 years experience in a knowledge function or transitioning from fee earning/in-house/academic role into Expertise Counsel.
• Experience across corporate law including public and private M&A, capital raisings, the Corporations Act and ASX listing rules.
• Strong drafting skills and interest in developing standard documents and know-how.
• Commercial mindset with ability to monitor regulatory and market updates and coordinate business development.
• Focus on team orientation with mentoring and developing junior colleagues.

We are seeking a Senior Expertise Counsel to join our Corporate Transactions team in Sydney. This role is ideal for someone looking to make a long-term commitment to their career in corporate law within a firm that will back their development and ambitions.

We are interested in hearing from people who have:

• 7-8 years experience working in a knowledge function or looking to transition from a fee earning, in-house or academic position into an Expertise Counsel role.
• A range of experience across corporate law including public and private M&A, capital raisings, the Corporations Act and the ASX listing rules.
• Genuinely interested in corporate law, coupled with a commercial mindset, experience monitoring regulatory and market updates with the ability to proactively identify and help coordinate business development initiatives.
