Job summary

Xylem is seeking a trades-qualified electrician to join our Service Centre in Kemps Creek, Sydney. This full-time, onsite role involves fault-finding, preventive maintenance, and repairs across electrical, mechanical and diesel systems for a range of Xylem equipment.

You will work autonomously, provide technical guidance to junior technicians, and contribute to accurate service reporting while upholding safety standards every day.

Qualifications

• Qualified tradesperson with strong technical experience and a practical, solutions-focused mindset.
• Independent worker who prioritises safety and can diagnose issues across multiple equipment types.
• Good communication skills to clearly relay technical information to customers.

Responsibilities

• Carry out workshop and onsite services on various Xylem Products (both mechanical and Electrical).
• Prepare Service Reports.
• Repair, monitor and install equipment.
• Provide feedback to customers on each service visit.
• Inspect and test products prior to dispatch to customers.
• Clean, strip and rebuild systems, pumps, and mixers in the workshop or on the customer site if required.

About the role

As part of our Service Centre team, you will be responsible for carrying out service and repair activities safely and efficiently across a range of company and customer equipment. The role includes preventative maintenance, inspections, breakdown support, advanced troubleshooting and repairs across electrical, mechanical and diesel systems.

You will also support branch operations more broadly by maintaining accurate service records, helping ensure tools and equipment remain in safe working condition, and contributing to strong customer outcomes through reliable technical support. This role works with a high degree of autonomy and also provides technical guidance to less experienced technicians when required.

Key responsibilities

About you

To be successful in this role, you will be a qualified tradesperson with strong technical experience and a practical, solutions-focused mindset. You will be confident working independently, committed to safety, and comfortable diagnosing issues across multiple equipment types.

You will ideally bring:

Prior experience as an Electrical Fitter/ Service Technician.

Relevant Trade Certificate - qualified Electrical Tradesperson

Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding capability.

Good communication skills and the ability to clearly communicate technical information.

Basic confidence using Microsoft Office
