Job summary

Mitchell Services is seeking an Experienced Large Diameter Driller Assistant to join our surface coal drilling crews. The role supports senior drillers to maintain safe operations on a 2 weeks on/2 weeks off FIFO roster from Brisbane Airport or an agreed point of hire.

You will perform prestart checks, incident reporting, sample marking, and hazard recording, with training provided. An MC Licence is highly desirable; you must obtain First Aid/CPR and National Police Clearance and pass a fitness

Qualifications

• MC Licence is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated experience as Large Diameter Offsider or similar.
• Current First Aid/CPR certificate required.
• Ability to obtain National Police Clearance.
• A good level of physical fitness and ability to pass a functional assessment.

Responsibilities

• Minimise breakage and down hole loss.
• Report all incidents immediately.
• Ensure prestart checks are performed diligently.
• Record hazards, near misses and improvements.
• Ensure accurate sample markup and orientation where applicable.

We Know Drilling

Due to continued growth within our Surface Coal Divisions, we are now seeking applications from suitably qualified candidates to become a valued member in our drilling crews where you will be collaboratively working alongside and assisting our experienced Drillers to maintain safe drilling operations. The role is for a 2 weeks on/2 weeks off roster, FIFO from Brisbane Airport or an agreed point of hire. DIDO within an acceptable distance to our mine in Tieri.

Duties

• Minimise breakage and down hole loss.
• Report all incidents immediately.
• Ensure all prestart checks are performed diligently.
• Discuss openly and record all hazards, near misses and improvements.
• Ensure accuracy in sample markup (eg. Core) and orientation where applicable.

Skills and Experience

• MC Licence is highly desirable for this role.
• Demonstrated experience in a similar or previous role working as a Large Diameter Offsider.
• The ability to obtain a First Aid/CPR (Current) is a requirement.
• An ability to obtain a National Police Clearance is a requirement.
• A good level of physical fitness is an inherent requirement, and the ability to pass a functional assessment.
