Job summary

Safety Plus Australia is seeking an experienced Installation Technician to join our Knoxfield-based team in Melbourne. You will install fall arrest anchors, rooftop access ladders, walkways, guardrails and platforms, reading drawings and setting out components while adhering to safety standards.

You’ll work on commercial and industrial sites, contribute to quality workmanship, operate with minimal supervision and advance in a supportive, hands-on environment with ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Proven hands-on installation experience in commercial construction.
• Background in height safety, roofing, metalwork or structural steel.
• Ability to interpret drawings and set out installation work.
• Experience working at heights on commercial rooftops.
• Construction White Card, driver’s license and full working rights in Australia.

Responsibilities

Safety Plus Australia is looking for an experienced, hands‑on Installation Technician to join our growing installation team based in Knoxfield, Melbourne.

We’re seeking someone with proven installation experience who can hit the ground running, confidently work from drawings and take pride in delivering quality workmanship.

Safety Plus Australia is an established specialist contractor providing height safety and roof access solutions to commercial and industrial clients throughout Melbourne and Victoria.

We work with leading builders, facility managers and asset owners, delivering a range of fall protection and access systems, including anchors, static lines, guardrails, walkways, ladders and plant access platforms.

With a strong pipeline of projects, we’re looking to strengthen our installation team with an experienced and reliable tradesperson.

About the Role

This is a permanent, full‑time position involving hands‑on installation work across a variety of commercial and industrial sites.

You’ll work as part of an established team, completing installations safely, efficiently and to a consistently high standard.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Installing fall arrest anchor points and static line systems
• Installing roof access ladders, walkways, guardrails and access platforms
• Reading and interpreting construction drawings and installation details
• Measuring, setting out, drilling, fixing and assembling components
• Working with aluminium, steel and various roofing and structural materials
• Ensuring all works meet relevant safety standards and quality requirements
• Maintaining safe, organised and professional worksites
• Working independently when required and contributing positively to the team

Skills & Experience

We’re seeking a skilled, experienced installer who can make an immediate contribution to our team.

To be successful, you’ll ideally have:

• Proven hands‑on installation experience within commercial construction
• Experience in height safety, roofing, metalwork, structural steel or similar installations
• Confidence using power tools, fixings and installation equipment
• Ability to interpret drawings and accurately set out installation works
• Experience working safely at heights and on commercial rooftops
• Strong practical problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision
• A reliable attitude and genuine pride in your workmanship

Essential requirements:

• Construction White Card
• Current driver’s licence
• Relevant construction or installation experience
• Full working rights in Australia

Highly regarded:

• Previous height safety or fall arrest system installation experience
• Working at Heights certification
• EWP licence
• Relevant trade qualifications
• Experience installing access platforms, ladders or structural metalwork

While direct height safety installation experience would be an advantage, we also welcome applications from experienced tradespeople with transferable installation skills.
