Job summary

Experienced General Practice Registered Nurse

About the Role

Ives Family Practice is seeking a highly experienced Registered Nurse to join our general practice team on a permanent full-time basis.

We are looking for a clinically confident and proactive nurse with a minimum of five years' experience in general practice who can independently manage nursing appointments within their professional scope and work collaboratively with our GPs.

Commencement: Within 2–4 weeks.

Key Clinical Responsibilities

Infusions and Procedures

• Aclasta (zoledronic acid) infusions
• Intravenous iron infusions and IV saline administration
• Vitamin B12 and vitamin D injections
• Implanon insertion and removal, where appropriately trained and authorised
• Wound management and dressings
• Immunisations and vaccinations

Health Assessments and Preventive Care

• 45–49-year-old health assessments
• Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health assessments
• Health assessments for neurodivergent patients, including appropriate individualised support and reasonable adjustments
• 75+ health assessments
• Chronic disease management and care planning
• Preventive healthcare and patient education

Diagnostic Procedures

• ECGs
• Holter monitor fitting, patient education and removal
• Assisting GPs with minor procedures

All clinical procedures must be performed within the nurse's scope of practice, training, competency and applicable protocols.

Essential Requirements

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
• Minimum five years' experience working in general practice
• Strong clinical assessment and procedural skills
• Experience in chronic disease management and preventive healthcare
• Ability to manage nursing appointments independently within scope
• Excellent communication and patient-centred care skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with GPs and administrative staff
• Proficiency in Best Practice clinical software
