Qualifications

• Certificate III/IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.
• At least 12 months experience as a cook in a commercial kitchen.
• Experience with grill/open fire cooking and pasta/sauce from scratch.
• Experience catering to dietary restrictions (gluten-free, vegan, nut-free).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals following standard recipes, prep methods, and kitchen procedures.
• Present dishes attractively while maintaining consistency, taste, and portions.
• Assist with food preparation and service under supervision.
• Monitor food quality and ensure meals are served at correct temperatures.
• Follow daily menus, production schedules, and portion requirements.
• Check and record food temperatures to comply with food safety regulations.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen workstations and areas.
• Support stock rotation, ingredient storage, and inventory handling.
• Operate kitchen appliances and cooking equipment safely and efficiently.
• Communicate with kitchen staff and supervisors regarding requirements.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety standards.
• Assist during busy service periods to maintain workflow efficiency
