Maitland Private Hospital in New South Wales is seeking an Exercise Physiologist to join our Mental Health team on a part-time basis for 11 months maternity leave. • Immunisation evidence and NSW Health serology as applicable.
• Australian permanent resident status or equivalent work rights.

Responsibilities

• Provide Exercise Physiology services to mental health inpatients and outpatients.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to plan patient care.
• Contribute to hydrotherapy, group classes and gym-based exercise programs.
• Support flexible rostering and part-time coverage across the maternity leave period.

Your new role as Exercise Physiologist:

Maitland Private Hospital gives skilled clinicians a platform to make tangible differences to service user’s quality of life and improve health outcomes. Our Mental Health facility has recently expanded to 68 voluntary inpatient beds and we currently have an opportunity for a highly motivated and committed Exercise Physiologist to join our friendly and supportive Mental Health team in a part-time capacity to cover 11 months maternity leave.

About you (essential criteria):

• Current Working with Children Check and Police Check.
• Tertiary qualifications in Exercise Physiology (new graduates considered)
• Accreditation with ESSA
• Highly developed assessment and treatment skills
• Demonstrated understanding of the role of an Exercise Physiologist within a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong collaborative interpersonal skills with well-developed verbal and written communication skills and ability to engage and build rapport with patients.
• Immunisation evidence and serology report in accordance with NSW Health.
• Australian permanent resident status or equivalent work rights required.
• Experience running hydrotherapy groups, small group classes, gym classes and walking groups highly desirable.
• Current Workcover and Medicare Provider Numbers
• Flexible working arrangements can be supported including term time work patterns. Pay level will be dependent on experience in line with the NSW Private Hospitals award.
