Job summary

Maitland Private Hospital is expanding its Mental Health services and seeking a psychologist to join the Barrington Clinic Inpatient Unit. The role supports 68 inpatient beds and involves delivering 1:1 therapy and coordinating group programs with a supportive, multi-disciplinary team.

Flexible rostering and professional development opportunities are offered within the Healthe Care group, with opportunities to work across multiple private hospitals in the region.

Your new role as Psychologist:

Maitland Private Hospital gives skilled clinicians a platform to make tangible differences to service user’s quality of life and improve health outcomes. Our Mental Health facility has recently expanded to 68 voluntary inpatient beds. We currently have a part-time maternity contract opportunity for a highly motivated and committed Allied Health member to join our friendly and supportive Mental Health team within The Barrington Clinic Inpatient Unit.

About you (essential criteria):

• Current Working with Children Check and Police Check.
• Current registration with AHPRA or appropriate body as a Psychologist, Social Worker or Occupational Therapist
• Highly developed assessment and treatment skills
• Experience facilitating group programs including but not limited to DBT, CBT, ACT or similar.
• Strong collaborative interpersonal skills with well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
• Immunisation evidence and serology report in accordance with NSW Health.
• Australian permanent resident status or equivalent work rights required.
• Willingness to work across inpatient and day patient settings
• Experience delivering 1:1 therapy and brief interventions
• Flexible working arrangements can be supported including term time work patterns. As part of the Healthe Care group Maitland Private employees have further opportunities to work across multiple work sites including Lingard Private, Gosford Private and Brisbane Waters Private Hospitals. Pay level will be dependent on experience in line with the NSW Private Hospitals award.
