Job summary

Longueville Private Hospital in Sydney is seeking an experienced Exercise Physiologist to join our multidisciplinary team in the day-only rehabilitation (DOR) program, with flexibility to cover some inpatient caseload on a casual basis.

The role focuses on general reconditioning, orthopaedic and neurological rehabilitation, plus our Heart Wellness Program, delivering individual and group sessions to adult, predominantly geriatric patients returning to the community.

Qualifications

• Exercise Physiology Qualification with ESSA registration.
• Desirable: 2 years’ experience in exercise physiology with a preference of day only rehabilitation.
• Rehabilitation experience and/or previous hospital experience.
• The ability to work effectively and efficiently within a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assess & treat acute and subacute medical and rehabilitation inpatients and day only rehabilitation patients
• Run individual and/or group-based sessions
• Set SMART goals and participate in multidisciplinary case conferences

Longueville Private Hospital (LPH) is a 38-bed hospital that provides rehabilitation, acute medical care and day only rehabilitation. Our focus is empowering patients to better manage their own health, using multidisciplinary expertise.

Recent renovations have incorporated a large, brightly lit, open plan gymnasium with the latest equipment and technology linking our existing hospital to the new Longueville Wellness Centre.

Longueville Private Hospital is part of Macquarie Health Corporation (MHC), one of the leading providers of private health care in Australia. MHC operates 12 private hospitals across NSW and Victoria. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to potentially work across multiple sites if desired, as there are strong, positive cross site relationships.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced, positive EP to join our multidisciplinary team, to predominantly work in our day only rehabilitation (DOR) section, with flexibility to cover some aspects of our Inpatient caseload on a casual basis.

Our comprehensive day only rehabilitation programs are multidisciplinary and focus on the individual rehabilitation goals of each patient in a group setting. Our DOR programs include general reconditioning, orthopaedic, some neurological as well as our specialised Heart Wellness Program.

The preferred candidate will have demonstrated experience in rehabilitation. Your skill set will enable you to support an adult, mostly geriatric patient on their health journey back into the community.The position is casual.

There is potential for this casual position to lead to permanent part time for the right candidate.
