Job summary

Sonic HealthPlus is seeking an experienced Exercise Physiologist or Exercise Scientist to join our Brisbane CBD Clinic on a full-time basis. You will deliver high-quality occupational health services, including fitness-for-work assessments, musculoskeletal screenings and functional testing, with opportunities for onsite health and wellness projects for corporate clients.

New graduates are encouraged to apply and you will be supported by our National Exercise Physiology Lead and Senior

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in Exercise Physiology or Exercise Science.
  • ESSA accreditation held or eligible for accreditation.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Working with Children Check.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to prepare professional reports.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently while prioritising competing tasks.
  • Experience in occupational health or workplace rehabilitation.
  • Experience conducting functional, musculoskeletal or fitness-for-work assessments.
  • Experience delivering workplace health promotion, wellness or injury prevention programs.
  • Knowledge of workplace health and safety principles and occupational health practices.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct fitness-for-work assessments and functional capacity testing.
  • Complete medical histories, physical examinations and assessments.
  • Perform occupational health screenings (ECG, spirometry, audiometry, drug/alcohol testing).
  • Deliver workplace health, wellness and injury prevention initiatives.
  • Conduct ergonomic assessments and provide injury prevention advice.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and write clear reports.
  • Support clinic operations with general administrative duties.
  • Provide onsite occupational health services at client workplaces as needed.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to achieve client outcomes.

About the Role

We're seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Exercise Physiologist or Exercise Scientist to join our allied health team at our Brisbane CBD Clinic on a full-time basis.

Reporting directly to the Practice Manager, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality occupational health services, including fitness-for-work assessments, musculoskeletal screenings and functional testing. There will also be opportunities to provide onsite health, wellness and injury prevention services to our corporate clients.

Whether you're an experienced clinician or a recent graduate, this is an excellent opportunity to develop your career in occupational health. You'll receive ongoing support from our National Exercise Physiology Lead and Senior Physiotherapist while working as part of a collaborative and passionate multidisciplinary team.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

You will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Conducting fitness-for-work assessments, including musculoskeletal and functional capacity testing.
  • Completing assessments, medical histories and physical examinations.
  • Performing occupational health screening, including ECG, spirometry, audiometry, and drug and alcohol testing.
  • Delivering workplace health, wellness and injury prevention initiatives.
  • Conducting ergonomic assessments and providing practical injury prevention advice.
  • Maintaining accurate clinical records and preparing clear, professional reports.
  • Undertaking general administrative duties to support the efficient operation of the clinic.
  • Providing onsite occupational health services at client workplaces as required.
  • Working collaboratively with the broader multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional client outcomes.
About You

The successful candidate will be a motivated Exercise Physiologist or Exercise Scientist who enjoys working autonomously while contributing to a collaborative team environment. You'll be passionate about promoting health and wellbeing and committed to delivering high-quality care.

  • Tertiary qualification in Exercise Physiology or Exercise Science.
  • Current accreditation with Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA).
  • First Aid and CPR Certification.
  • Working with Children Check.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare professional reports.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while effectively managing competing priorities.
  • Experience in occupational health or workplace rehabilitation.
  • Experience conducting functional, musculoskeletal or fitness-for-work assessments.
  • Experience delivering workplace health promotion, wellness or injury prevention programs.
  • Knowledge of workplace health and safety principles and occupational health practices.
