Job summary

Arch Insurance Australia is seeking an experienced Underwriter to evaluate new and existing portfolios, ensuring profitability and adherence to Arch guidelines.

The role involves broker relationship management, reporting, audits, and collaboration with senior underwriters to develop products and distribution strategies. Travel may be required; strong knowledge of Australian insurance regulations is desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience in financial services, ideally with knowledge legislative framework.
• Minimum 2 years in a similar role.

Responsibilities

• Ensure quality of underwriting activities within policy and standards.
• Prepare reports on portfolio performance and maintain credit control.
• Participate in audits, peer reviews and compliance requirements.
• Ensure documentation is accurate and conforms with guidelines.
• Work with stakeholders to maximise underwriting opportunities and control costs.
• Underwrite Executive Assurance products per Arch guidelines for profitability.
• Develop key broker relationships with high level customer service.
• Provide timely service of requests and maintain timely administration.
• Develop and execute new business opportunities with brokers (cross-sell where applicable).
• Collaborate with senior underwriters on product development.
• Assist with distribution strategy and cross-centre opportunities.
• Comply with laws, regulations, codes and Arch standards.
• Process and document new business, renewals and endorsements efficiently.
• Respond to broker enquiries and keep reporting spreadsheets up to date.
• Travel as required by the business.
